Last Updated: August 25, 2026
Overview
SameDay ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.
The Short Version
We don't collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal information or photos. Period.
Data Collection
We collect ZERO data.
SameDay does not:
- Collect any personal information
- Track your usage or behavior
- Store any data on external servers
- Use analytics or tracking services
- Display advertisements
- Sell or share any information
- Require account creation or login
Photo Library Access
Why We Need Access
SameDay requires access to your photo library to show you photos taken on the current date across different years and allow you to organize them.
How We Use Your Photos
- All processing happens on your device - Your photos never leave your iPhone or iPad
- No photos are uploaded - We do not transmit photos to any server, cloud service, or third party
- No photos are stored by us - We only access photos through Apple's Photos framework
- Your control - You can revoke photo access at any time through iOS Settings
What We Store Locally
The app stores minimal data on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:
- Identifiers of photos you've reviewed (to prevent showing them again)
- Identifiers of photos marked for deletion (until you confirm deletion)
This data:
- Stays on your device only
- Is never transmitted anywhere
- Can be cleared by deleting the app
- Does not contain the actual photos or any personal information
iOS Permissions
SameDay requests the following iOS permissions:
Photo Library Access (Required)
- Purpose: To display photos from your library taken on the current date
- Scope: You can choose "Full Access" or "Limited Access" (select specific photos)
- Used for: Reading photo metadata (date) and managing photo deletion
We do not request any other permissions.
Photo Deletion
When you choose to delete photos:
- Photos are first marked for deletion (stored locally on your device)
- When you confirm deletion, photos are moved to iOS's "Recently Deleted" album
- Photos remain in "Recently Deleted" for 30 days (per iOS standard)
- After 30 days, iOS permanently deletes them (not controlled by our app)
We do not have access to or control over the "Recently Deleted" album.
Third-Party Services
SameDay does not use any third-party services including:
- Analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
- Advertising networks
- Crash reporting tools
- Social media integrations
- Cloud storage services
- Authentication services
Data Security
Since we don't collect or transmit any data:

- There are no databases to breach
- Your photos never leave your device
- All app functionality works offline
Your photos are protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.).
